Bowel Obstruction Led to Tragic End for Elvis' Daughter

Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of rock 'n' roll legend Elvis Presley, died of a bowel obstruction in January, according to a newly-released report.

Presley was found unresponsive in her Calabasas, California, home on January 12 and was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. An initial autopsy examination was unable to determine the cause of her death, but further tests have now revealed that she died from complications of bariatric surgery she had undergone several years earlier.

Lisa Marie Presley was a singer-songwriter and philanthropist who followed in her father's footsteps in the music industry. She released three albums and had several hits, including "Lights Out" and "In the Ghetto." She was also a strong advocate for animal welfare and founded the Presley Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports various charitable causes.

Presley was buried next to her son, Benjamin Keough, who died by suicide in 2020.
